Retro Optimism is the result of years of work by composer and producer Adam Fligsten. To bring the project to life, he hired a full string section and even built a custom synthesizer to capture sounds he couldn’t find anywhere else. He describes it as the single most effort he has ever put into a project.

The album pushes production and synthesis to their modern limits, combining orchestral depth with the energy of electronic music. Hip Hop, Drum and Bass, Downtempo, and classical influences come together in a collection of tracks built around clear melodies and driving basslines.

Adam has spent nearly two decades writing music for video games, television, film, and commercials around the world.

Now based in Joshua Tree, California, after many years in Los Angeles, he continues to expand his mission of blending genres and pushing sound into new territory.
